Do Cellulite Body Wraps Work?
This is a common question: do they work, or are they just another weight loss gimmick? The results actually vary from person to person. However, you will have to be careful while choosing a body wrap. You will have to evaluate the choices with the criteria, to get the best results. If you think that you may achieve weight loss only on application of body wraps, you are in for a major disappointment. You will also have to follow a regular exercise and diet program.
Recipes
A simple recipe is a mixture of clay with some natural sea salt. Herbs and essential oils can also be added. Here’s how to make these wraps at home.
#1 This is a wonderful method to tone and tighten your skin, besides being a good body wrap for weight loss at home.
Ingredients
- Green clay, 1 cup
- Sea salt, ¼ cup
- Olive oil, 2 tbsp
- Water, 2 cups
Method
- Boil water, and add sea salt to it.
- Stir till the salt is dissolved in the water.
- Add olive oil to the mixture, and stir well again.
- In the end, add clay, and make a paste with it.
- You can add a little more water if you are not able to make a paste.
- Heat the bathroom or your bedroom, till you rub the mixture all over the body.
- Wrap yourself using cotton sheets or towels. You can also opt for wrapping sheets.
- Leave it on for 45 minutes to an hour before you wash it off.

Ingredients
- Mixture of chamomile, ginger, and lavender powder, 1 cup
- Hot water, ½ bucket
Method
- Pour the herb mixture into the water, and let it steep for 10 minutes.
- Soak towels in this water, squeeze them a little, and wrap around the area of concern.
- Leave them on for 10 to 12 minutes.
- Remove the towel, and repeat till the water becomes cold.
#3 This is another slimming wrap which can be used either on problem areas, or all over the body.
Ingredients
- Mixture of chamomile herb, ginger herb, and lavender herb, 1 cup
- Fennel seed powder, ¼ cup
- Alfalfa powder, ¼ cup
- Epsom salt, 1 cup
- Green clay, 1½ cup
- Boiling water, 2-3 cups
Method
- Put all the ingredients, in 2 cups of boiling water, and make a wet paste.
- If the paste is thick, add some water to it.
- Allow the mixture to cool, till it is warm to touch.
- Apply the paste all over your body, targeting the problem area.
- Tightly wrap towels around your body, or use wrapping sheets.
- Leave them on for an hour.
- Unwrap the towels, and bathe in warm water.
Drink plenty of water both, before and after the wrap. Warm water is recommended. Before you apply the wrap, take a hot shower so that the pores are opened. It is recommended that after body wrap treatment you should avoid caffeine, fatty foods, soda, or alcohol for a minimum period of 48 hours.
